Professional Speaker -

Johntz Presentations, Pasadena. California. April, 1999 - present:

Clients include FINA Oil, McKinsey &Company, Delta Airlines, Mensa, Southwestern Bell Wireless, The F.B.I., Charter Hospital, The Better Business Bureau, Columbia Hospital, among others. Created a series of “Psych Tools for...” workshops and keynote designed to help corporations and organizations work wonders with people. Presented over 900 times during seven years of private practice, before transitioning into professional speaking full-time.

Founder/Owner/Psychotherapist -

Plano Psychotherapy, Plano, Texas.  November, 1994 - April, 1999:

Individual, family, couple and group psychotherapist in private practice.  Specialties include women’s issues, depression, anxiety, and trauma recovery.  Utilize hypnotherapy, videotherapy, and experiential techniques when appropriate as adjuncts to the therapy process.

Associate Therapist -

Family Therapy Associates of Plano, Plano, Texas. February 1993 - November 1994:

Individual, family, couple, group and play psychotherapist in private practice.  Specialties included sexual, emotional, physical and spiritual abuse recovery, adolescent and adult addictive disorders, affective disorders and anxiety disorders. 

Contract Therapist -

Seay Behavioral Health Center of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Plano, Texas. February 1993 - November 1994:

Provided support on a contract basis to a 24-bed inpatient and partial patient psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital serving both adults and adolescents.

Contract Experiential Therapist -

Seay Behavioral Health Center of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Plano, Texas. June 1993 - November 1994:

Experiential therapy for patient, community, school and corporate groups.  Initiatives include Challenge Quest Ropes Course, team and trust building exercises indoors and outdoors, empathy and understanding exercises to bring groups together, such as local gangs or different ethnic factions.

Associate Counselor -

Seay Behavioral Health Center of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Plano, Texas. October 1993 - March 1993:

Counselor for adult chemical dependency and psychiatric hospital.  Group and individual therapist utilizing psychodrama, relaxation techniques and cognitive-behavioral retraining as adjuncts to therapy.

Milieu Therapist -

Seay Behavioral Health Center of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Plano, Texas. February 1991 - October 1992:

Responsibilities included leading group, family and individual therapy sessions with adolescents and children.  Inpatient and partial patient experience with disorders ranging from O.D.D. and A.D.H.D., to eating disorders, depression chemical dependency and trauma recovery.

Initiated, organized, produced and analyzed results from first employee satisfaction survey, which began a reorganization process resulting in streamlining operations, and in saving money and employee time and stress.

Identified problem areas and initiated numerous changes within organization, creating more efficient daily operations.

Received highest raise possible at each review period.

Television News Reporter/Editor -

Westcott Communications – The Law Enforcement Television Network (LETN) and The Automotive Satellite Television Network (ASTN), Dallas, Texas. August 1989 – February 1991:

On-camera talent for these national satellite networks, as well as editor of written and video content. Programming beamed via satellite into police stations 24 hours a day, with news programming every half hour. ASTN beamed via satellite into car dealerships to train sales personnel in the latest sales techniques and product features. Also served as back-up anchor for ASTN News.
